Peace. Love. Utah.

Here in Utah it's hard to hear the word red and not think of the University of Utah.  Today's Photo-a-Day Challenge prompt is, you guessed it: "red".  So in honor of our Utes and my alma mater, here's my picture for the day:

What I really wanted to share with you today would fit today's photo prompt word, but the picture's just not terribly exciting or cute:

This is a picture of the inside of my baking/plastics cupboard.  I used to have the measuring cups stacked inside each other and sitting on the shelf.  The measuring spoons were kept in a drawer with other cooking utensils.  THEN...I discovered Command Hooks.

Command website

Ever heard of these little guys?  They are nothing short of awesome.  These hooks adhere to just about any surface then when you want to remove them, they come off without damaging the surface at all!  AND, they can hold up to 7.5 pounds.
I use them everywhere, but putting them inside the cupboard to hold the measuring cups and spoons is maybe my favorite use for them so far.  Not that it's at all hard to get a measuring cup out from within a whole stack of them or rifle through the drawer to find the right measuring spoon, but this just makes it so darned easy and convenient.
If you decide to do this with your cupboard keep in mind when placing the hooks that you'll need to account for the shelf and any items on the shelf that might get in the way of the door closing.

Hey, I'm all for anything that makes it easier for my husband to make his delicious chocolate chip cookies!  Have a lovely day, and thank you for stopping by!

  3. Ugh. The Utes. ;) Just kidding. My family is mostly BYU fans, but two of my brothers went to the U. I think my dad died a little the day they broke the news to him! :)

Found your link on Artsy Mama and noticed you're a fellow Utahn. Whoot!
